In the fourth episode we look at the end of the struggle between the ancestors of Sverker the older and Saint Erik - and the emergence of a new family of kings, descended from the efficient earl Birger. During this period Sweden gets some laws for the entire kingdom, a system of sheriffs and royal castles. There is also a medieval sex scandal involvning the king and his sister, an escaped nun.
